We been having an inversion which is normal for Boise.  Frosty cold days and nights in town while up in the hills it is 20˚ warmer and sunny.

The old armory built in the 1930 as a WPA project is now being reworked after sitting vacant for many years.  I do not know what it will house but it good to see that it was not torn down.  It already looks better.

Bag of Leaves

In the older neighborhoods of Boise where the trees are large and numerous it is a big deal come autumn with raking of the leaves.    Here I have 35 bags of leaves waiting for city to pick-up for composting.  Next week I could have another batch.

Here is the last of the pictures from my walk in Kathryn Albertson Park last Sunday.  The tree on the left I think is an autumn purple ash, Fraxinus americana, but what ever it is it had great colors that day.

Oneonta Creek

A popular hiking trail up the canyon.  To get there you have to climb over a boulder and a log jam.  A lot of people make the effort but it seemed too dangerous and difficult for my old bones.
