Wet and Dry

The contrast of the well watered grass of Quarry View Park and the dry hillside.   The quarry that is viewed from here is on the side and top ridge of the hill.  Sandstone was quarried for the old penitentiary which is used as museum now and just on the other side of the trees in the back of the park.

Skywatch

The sky today was full of smoke from wild fires in the area and with the clouds it made for a interesting looking sky.  
Springs- Boise County, ID (5 MILES WEST OF GARDEN VALLEY, ID), Trinity Ridge - Elmore County, ID (7 MILES NW OF FEATHERVILLE, ID), East Rock, Owyhee County, ID (30 MILES SOUTH MOUNTAIN HOME), and four other wild fires in the area.

Morning rays of sun coming through the clouds at Mores Mountain, ID.  In the distance are the Sawtooth Mountains in central Idaho.  This is about 18 miles (29km) form downtown Boise.
